Hello and welcome to another blog from MX pharmacy. this month I will be writing about medicine use reviews (mur).
Ok so your already thinking what is a medicines use review? Well a mur is when you discuss your medication with your pharmacist. You can ask all sorts of questions such as "what's this medicine for?" or "What are the side-effects of this medicine?" etc. What ever the questions are our pharmacist will put your mind at ease. It is also a good opportunity for the pharmacist to educate you about your medication e.g when to take it or if you use inhalers, how to use them correctly. This will mean that you will get the most out of your medication and it is more likely to control your medical condition. You don't need an appointment for this service and it's completely FREE. For more information call 01772654448. And don't forget to share this with your friends and family.

Hello and welcome to the June edition of our blog. EPS has now been active for around FOUR months and so far it has been a great sucess with customers, surgeries and Pharmacies.
So what have we learnt in the past few months? There have been some products which the surgeries have NOT been able to transmit electronically to the pharmacies. These have been all the controlled drugs such as Tramadol, Buprenorphine patches, MST etc and Gaviscon Liquid Over the course of the next few months the NHS will try to address these problems. If you are having problems with your prescriptions now then let us know on 01772 654448 and we can see if can help. Have a great Day Yas Are you worried or unsure about electronic prescriptions?
If so then you're in the right place. I'm going to quickly explain what it is and what it will mean for you and your family. What is EPS? EPS stand for Electronic Prescription Service. Normally your doctor would print a green prescription and sign it with a pen. With EPS the prescription is not printed by your doctor but instead it remains on the computer and once your doctor has checked it clinically he/she will sign it DIGITALLY. With a green Prescription you would normally either pick it up or have it picked up by your pharmacy from the surgery. Then you would take it to any pharmacy and have it dispensed. But with EPS the prescription will go automatically to the pharmacy you have nominated as soon as the doctor has signed it digitally. This will mean that your phamacy will receive your prescriptions and have your medication ready when you go into collect it. How long will Prescriptions take to be ready? EPS prescriptions will take the same amount of time to be prepared by your surgery as before, this is because the staff will still need to prepare your prescription on computer and the doctor will still need to sign the prescriptions digitally after he/she is happy with your medication. When is it going to happen? If your surgery is Ribbleton medical centre, Park View Surgery, Park Medical practice or Broadway surgery then it is already happening and pharmacies are already receiving prescriptions electronically. The other surgeries in preston will be following very soon. What do I have to do now? All you have to do is nominate your chosen pharmacy by completing a consent form and returning it to the pharmacy of your choice. Then everytime you need to order the medication the prescription will go to the chemist of your choice. Click here to Nominate MX Pharmacy as your chosen pharmacy for all your medication. If you look after any elderly person's medication then this service will save you time as you will not need to go to the doctor to collect your prescription. Also if you want to order your medication online then please click here. If you have found this blog helpful then please don't forget to share it with other people who you might think will find it useful. Are you winning the war against headlice? I came across this new device called Nitview . It's a cross between a UV light and a nitty gritty comb. It works by emitting UV light as you comb the hair and if any nits or headlice are present they will be illuminated and easy to detect and remove with the incorporated comb which has micro-channelled teeth. Watch the video below for a demo. It can be purchased from the following website Everyday Pharmacy. Please comment below to let me know how you get on with this great product.
